Passenger Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport

Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s Passenger Terminal T3 spans one basement and four stories above ground, with a total building floor area of 112,500m2. The terminal has a linear shape similar to the existing terminal and is divided into two levels: departure and arrival. It has 90 traditional airline check-in counters, 20 automatic bagdrop counters, and 42 check-in kiosks, 27 aircraft gates (13 telescopic gates and 14 bus gates), 6 departure baggage handling islands and 10 arrival baggage return islands, and 25 passenger security control gates.

Terminal T3 is specifically created with eight security control gates and a distinct space for VIP

The parking lot

The complex consists of two basements, four upper stories, and a total floor space of 130,000m2. It serves as a parking lot, commercial center, hotel, and restaurant for passengers.

Elevated Road System

The elevated road system at the two station levels is as follows: Level 2 has 2 – 3 lanes, with each lane measuring 3.5m wide; Level 3 has 2 – 5 lanes, each measuring 3.5m wide.

Aircraft parking

The airplane parking project involves enlarging the parking space in front of the terminal to 4,600m2 and installing a lighting system to support aircraft operations. It can accommodate all types of aircraft code C and E.

ACV Self services system

Passenger terminal T3 is equipped with a variety of modern aviation technologies, with a focus on providing a seamless passenger experience from check-in to boarding via the ACV Self Services system, which will allow passengers to self-check in at shared check-in kiosks and self-check in their baggage before automatically boarding the plane via the E-gate.

This technology is currently being used at major smart airports throughout the world, including Incheon T2 (Korea) and Changi T4 (Singapore). ACV Self Services is thought to dramatically improve the customer experience by reducing time, optimizing floor space, and freeing up lineups so that airport workers may deliver other superior support services.

Technology applications provide numerous digital experiences

Passengers’ check-in times will be optimized and their digital experiences increased at Terminal T3 thanks to technology applications placed on the telecoms, digital infrastructure, and services. This telecommunications infrastructure can meet 100% of the needs for both the terminal management system and passengers.

5G mobile coverage is present throughout the terminal. The mobile signal amplification system (IBS) ensures that communication signals are as clear as possible in confined spaces like basements and congested areas. Passengers will also have easy access to the internet thanks to free wifi and marketing systems.

Passengers

Passengers can also take advantage of alternative convenient modes of transportation, such as technology vehicles, taxis, or free shuttle buses offered by the port; trips last 15 – 20 minutes and operate from 4:30 a.m. to 0:30 a.m. Vehicle collecting areas: Terminal T1: from columns B17 to B20, lane B; Terminal T2: from columns B16 to B15, lane B; Terminal T3: from columns A17 to A20, first level.

To prevent making the erroneous trip, customers should carefully verify the terminal information printed on their tickets, the airline’s website, or its app. To guarantee a seamless journey, passengers should arrive at the designated terminal and at the airport at least two hours before departure time.
