Cat Lai port is one of the part of Sai Gon port. It is located on the Dong Nai River, Ho Chi Minh city. Cai Lai is one of the biggest and most modern container port in Vietnam.
This port cover over 100ha including a container yard which is 700.700 m2 large. The water depth enables Cat Lai port to receive seven vessels capacity of up to 40.000 DWT/2.000 TEUs each simultaneously.
The berth productivity is 60 moves/hour/vessel. Currently, Cai Lai port handles more than 240 vessels coming from all over the world with an average of over 250.000 TEUs per month.
The port possess modern IT terminal operation and management system, which improve the productivity substantially.
Furthermore, Cat Lai port is linked to the National Highway No.1, the inner and outer belt Highways, HCM-Long Thanh- Dau Giay Highway via the Inter-province Highway 25. This highway allows vehicles with loading capacity of up to 30 tons. Through these highway, goods are transported from Cai Lai Port to vibrant and dynamic economic zones in Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and other provinces of Cua Long Delta quickly and conveniently.
According to a survey, Cat Lai handles approximately 50% of the total number of containers in Vietnam and 85% of that in the South of Vietnam.
