Turkish Culture

In Turkish culture, people believe that “the length of the goodbye depends on the guest when they arrive, and on the host when they leave.”

According to the customs of this country, welcoming guests into one’s home is considered a great honor. The host will not let their guests leave easily.

During an evening visit, tea and sweets will be served. When fruit plates are brought out, it is a sign for the guest to start saying their goodbyes.

However, the farewell process takes quite a while before we actually step out of the host’s house.
